FEMA CONTRACT
Aug 1, 2006 was the starting date of the FEMA contract to resolve the Keys of storm damage and derelict vessels that had been a navigational hazard for the boaters in the Upper Keys. Working with " Cahaba Disaster Recovery " and with local, county, state & federal agencies D.E.P., F.W.C and started salvaging derelict & sunk vessels to clear our waterways from navigational hazards to bring safe boating back in the Upper Keys.
On Aug 18, 2006 Poseidon Towing & Salvage pulled out all the vessels in their fleet and hit the waters to reclaim what the ocean had taken, with Poseidon IV acting as mother-ship to all other salvage vessels and crews members. Poseidon IV headed offshore for 3 months with area photos & GPS coordinates of the derelict & sunk vessels. We also came across many vessels ourselves while working on this project. We have recovered over 150 vessels with our sweep of the waterways of the Upper Keys. All marine life that we have recovered within these vessels were returned back to the wild.
